Breakwater Surf Club is a private residence community comprised of 59 single-family homes, situated at the entry point to the famous Fort Lauderdale Inlet (The “Yachting Capital of the World”). Many of the homes were built in the 1950's and are recognizable by their typical Mid-Century Modern architecture.
Residents of the community are entitled to the exclusive use of the private Breakwater Surf Club, which includes a pool and clubhouse. Howver, it's not a "Members Club", since individuals/entities cannot join. The facilities, services, and functions of the club are solely for the use of the homeowners of this neighborhood.
Breakwater is one of several associations and affiliations that comprise the larger neighborhood community of the southern Fort Lauderdale beach area (also including Harbor Isles, Harbor Inlet, and Harbor Beach).
